The following calculator lets you assess what overall score you might expect from this class. As the semester progress, you will receive scores for evening exams 1, 2, and 3. Enter either your current score or a projection of how you think you can do into the appropriate boxes below. Then estimate what your Final Exam Score might be and enter that.

For the "Other" contributions to the calculation, it should not be hard for a serious student to obtain 100 in each of those categories. PRS scores will not be available for some time, but enter a rough estimate (errors in this prediction will have small effects on the total score). Similarly, you won't have a lab score for some time, but based on your intended effort, make a guess. Most students who put a solid effort into the lab can expect a relatively high score.

Note in the example below that exams scores of 77, 62, 65, and 69 nevertheless yielded an overall course score of 78. This is the power of OWL, PRS, and lab - take them all seriously!

Try different values for those scores that you can still influence and see what the effect is on your total score.

The following lists minimal set points for grading. I reserve the right to expand some of these set points downwards (in other words, allowing lower scores to earn higher letter grades), but I won't move any of them upwards.
