Fluorescence sensing

Explosives detection is urgently needed for homeland defense. We are developing Zn(phenolate) complexes for new explosives-detection strategies. This work also provides insight into the intrinsic redox reactivity of metal-phenolates, models for redox active tyrosyl cofactors found in many proteins.
