Some Ways to Find Physical Constants of Organic Chemicals

and Other Chemical Information.

Using the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics: an Example (note that different editions may present the information slightly differently).

Using the Web: look under the ChemFinder web site. The simplest way to search for a compound is by name. If you install the free plug-in onto your browser you can also draw the structure of the compound for which you want to do a search. The search leads to physical properties and links to many other sites which provide chemical, physical, and biological data about the compound.

You may find other useful web sites at "Interesting Chemistry Links" on the course's front page.
