The average (60) was not where you or I would like it to be and spread was wide. There were conceptual issues with effective nuclear charge and some of the structures proved too challenging. We'll talk about it in class.

The error in question 22 of the practice exam that was uncovered today has been corrected. Please download revised versions without and with answers. The new versions will say "Revised" at the top.

Reminder: our next Evening Exam is this coming TUESDAY.

Conflicts must be resolved with Professor Martin NOW!

There will be two SI review sessions before next week's exam. Both are in the library, Room 1367.

We will also have an in-class review session this Monday.

Please note an upcoming seminar of interest to the our class. F. Sherwood Rowland, who received the Nobel Prize for his work on chemistry contributing to the ozone hole, will give a seminar entitled "Pollution, both Urban and Long-range". The seminar is on Thursday March 30, at 11:15a in LGRT 1634. You are all invited to attend.

Professor Rowland will be giving two other talks within the Five Colleges. Click for more info.

Tonight's SI session in the library is canceled. Our tutor, Sarah, has the flu.

The course syllabus incorrectly listed March 17 as a University holiday. It turns out classes are in session, despite its being Evacuation (St. Pat's) Day. Instead of regular class, we'll have an (optional) mid-semester review session during class period on that day. I hope to see you all! Bring your PRS units - you'll get extra credit for doing some PRS questions on that day.

We have received a schedule for our Final Exam: Friday May 19 at 4:00pm in HASA 20. Please start adjusting your schedules as needed.

Results from the First Evening Exam are in! Answer keys can be downloaded for study. Individual results are NOW available in OWL.

Please remember that we have an exam next Tuesday evening (see below for details).

There will be a review session in the Learning Resource Center this Sunday, Feb. 26th from 7:00pm-8:15pm in Room 1367 of the Main Library.

Our SLC tutor, Sarah, will be out of town this week. You can still stop by the SLC and talk with other tutors, but her first sessions won't start until the week of 2/19.

Please immediately log in to OWL and 1) update your password and email address, 2) begin working on units, & 3) register your PRS clicker

Please note that due to a large number of late-rostering students, I have re-opened all of the past-due OWL assignments. Those now have a due date of 2/15 (the assignments due on 2/13 are still due on 2/13). So any of you who failed to complete all of the OWL units to date, you have a second chance!
