UMASS Chemistry Club

Officers

Edward Ryan - President
Major: Food Science
Phone: 413-949-1610
Email: elryanstudent.umass.edu
Goals for the club:
To provide as many resources I can possibly find and utilized them for students to use. Also showing people that the club is the place to be here at Umass.
Something about you:
I know this isn’t a dating site, so I’ll be short. I put most of my energy or day that is in helping others. Whether it be cleaning the club or by helping someone find something they need. Also I work hard and disciplined in doing it, but I have fun too!

Gordon Smith - Vice President
Major: Chemistry
Minor: Art
Phone: 413-546-4525
Email: gordonsstudent.umass.edu
Goals for the club:
To get people to understand that chemistry is fun, and to prevent those that disagree with this from beating the rest of us up.
Something about you:
Climbs trees like a monkey, cycles like Lance, photographs like Ansel, sings like Sinatra, researches with DV, and possibly has an ego the size of Cleveland.

Paul Ganssle - Treasurer
Major:
Chemistry and Classical Languages
Phone: 413-559-1118
Email: pgansslestudent.umass.edu
Goals for the club:
To pour my blood, sweat and tears (real men don't cry anyway, so I don't need 'em) into making the club a better place, only to be stymied at all turns because people around me have no sense of humor and will be angered by the things that I say. I invite you to reap the benefits of the serious health effects that I suffer from the efforts I put forth while slowly working to crush my soul.
Something about you:
I hate filling out stupid forms or playing games in which someone asks me things like, "Tell us your name, your major and something about you!" Oh, shit..

Julia Kumpf - Secretary
Major:
Chemistry and Physics
Phone: 508-259-2104
Email: jkumpfstudent.umass.edu
Goals for the club:
I want to facilitate communication between club members, officers, and faculty.
Something about you:
I actually knew about the Chem Club before I had even applied to UMass, and it was a serious factor in my decision to come here. I love the atmosphere of our room, and the fact that we have a room shows how much the Chemistry Department supports us.
Oh, and I also once made out with a buffalo.
