The 2010 Journal of Physical Organic Chemistry Award for Early Excellence in the Field of Physical Organic Chemistry will be presented at this year’s RMC, along with a lecture by the awardee. This award is given annually to recognize the accomplishments of an individual working in the field of physical organic chemistry or applying the principles of this field to other areas. It is made through cooperation between JPOC, the Reaction Mechanisms Conferences, and the International Conferences on Physical Organic Chemistry.
In addition, traditionally, the RMC has devoted an evening session to honoring the career of a person whose scientific leadership has had a major influence on the field of mechanistic chemistry. The RMC 2010 honorary evening session will recognize the work of Jerome A. Berson, Sterling Professor Emeritus of Yale University.
