Scores for the third evening exam are in. Scores were lower than I anticipated.

Get serious for the final, but don't get depressed. If you want to explore how this score effects your final course score, please visit our Course Score Calculator. Enter your exam scores (1, 2, and 3) and then make predictions about your other scores. Remember that it is not hard to get 100 on each of OWL, PRS, and Lab.

As an example, if you scored the exam average on each of the 3 evening exams, you score the average of those (69) on the Final, and you score full credit for each of OWL, PRS, and Lab, then your overall course score will be a 78, earning you a B for the course.

If you study extra hard for the Final Exam and score an 85 on the Final, you'll earn 82 points, to bump up to a B+. With a score of 100 on the Final, you can reach the A- range. This, for someone who scored the average on each of the 3 evening exams. Now put in your scores and see what you have to do to get the grade that you want.

What is "Q1 chemical" and how do I know which version of the exam I have?
First, collect your exam from Room 149 GSMN. Then look at question 1. Match the chemical being queried to the row above and that's your exam! Confirm by comparing other questions and the ordering of their answer choices.

Once scores are posted on OWL, you'll also have an indication there of which version was used to score your exam.

Evening Exam 2

Scores for the second evening exam are in. I remain impressed by the class average. Congratulations.

I should caution that for some of you this score might be a bit artificially high. There were some subtle issues with respect to two of the questions on the exam (numbers 6 and 13 on some exams). Consequently, I gave everyone a "pass" on both of those questions. Also note that there are revised answer keys (revised as of late Sunday afternoon) out that provide a bit more information and that comment on the issues with numbers 6 and 13.

It's still a bit early for predictions, but if you want to explore how this score effects your final course score, please visit our Course Score Calculator. Enter your exam scores (1 and 2) and then make predictions about your other scores.

Evening Exam 1

Scores for the first evening exam are in. This was a relatively challenging exam and I am impressed by the class average. Congratulations. If you were to receive the median score, 72, on all four exams, plus 100 on PRS, OWL, and lab (not so hard, if you try), then you'd earn an 80 in the course, which would net you a solid B for the course.

It's a bit early for predictions, but if you want to explore how this score effects your final course score, please visit our Course Score Calculator. Enter your exam score and then make predictions about your other scores.

I am, however, concerned by the broad spread in scores.
